      <title>Arctic Peoples and the Canadian North of Yesterday and Today (9 Apr 2026)</title>
      <description>&lt;p style="line-height: 20px; margin-bottom: 0px !important;"&gt;&lt;font style="font-size: 14px;"&gt;The future of the Arctic is a topic often at the forefront of Canadian politics. Beyond Canadian sovereignty, are the people who live there and the enduring nature of this northern land. This two-part presentation will introduce you to a solid foundation about the Canadian Arctic and its peoples.&amp;nbsp; The first part will be a description of the peoples, their history, their culture and early contact experience.&amp;nbsp; The second part will be an examination of communities today, the present economy, arctic neighbours, and effects of climate change.&lt;br&gt;

      <title>OWL Wildlife Raptor Rehabilitation Centre (20 Apr 2026)</title>
      <description>&lt;p style="line-height: 20px; margin-bottom: 0px !important;"&gt;&lt;font style="font-size: 14px;"&gt;Make your way to OWL and join us for a guided tour of Delta’s own OWL (orphaned wildlife) rehabilitation centre and learn about raptors.&amp;nbsp; You will have the opportunity to see 14 different species of prey that are permanent residents at OWL due to injuries that inhibit their survival in the wild, as well as&amp;nbsp;“Sarah”, their resident barn owl.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;You will learn about the function of the OWL Society, the basic biology and behaviour of different types of raptors, the dangers they endure and what you can do to help them.&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p style="line-height: 20px; margin-top: 0px !important; margin-bottom: 0px;"&gt;&lt;font style="font-size: 14px;"&gt;&lt;br&gt;
&lt;em&gt;&lt;font style="font-size: 14px;"&gt;Notes: The event happens rain or shine and involves some walking around on mostly level ground.&amp;nbsp; Wear appropriate clothing and footwear.&amp;nbsp; Students will have to provide their own transportation to OWL, there is a gravel parking lot.&amp;nbsp;&lt;em&gt;&lt;font style="font-size: 14px;"&gt;We can help facilitate car-pooling if requested.&lt;br&gt;
