Dear Friends of the Vancouver Chamber Music Society,

We hope this message finds you well.

At our recent final performance of the season, we shared an announcement with our audience that we also wished to personally share with those who were unable to attend.

The 2026/27 season is currently planned to be the final season of the Delta Evening Series presented by the Vancouver Chamber Music Society.

Since its inaugural 2019/20 season, this series has been shaped by the warmth, loyalty, and encouragement of the Delta community. Together, we shared extraordinary evenings of music, welcomed remarkable artists, and continued through the uncertainty and challenges of the COVID years. Through every season, your presence and support sustained not only these concerts, but also the spirit behind them.

What made the Delta Evening Series truly special was never only the performances themselves, but the feeling of gathering together, season after season, as a community of listeners.

As the realities of sustaining regional evening concert series continue to change, VCMS reached the difficult decision that the 2026/27 season would likely become the final season of the Delta Evening Series. This was not a decision made lightly, and it comes with deep gratitude for everyone who helped shape this series over the years.

However, following our recent announcement, many audience members stayed behind after the concert to speak with us personally. We were deeply moved by the number of conversations centered around one shared question, whether there might still be a path forward for this series, and what could still be done together as a community to help sustain it.

Those conversations reminded us once again how deeply this series has become part of the cultural life of Tsawwassen, and how meaningful these evenings have been for so many audience members over the years.

As we enter this coming season together, our hope is not only to celebrate the music and memories we have shared, but also to see whether this community might help carry the series forward into the future.

Our goal for the 2026/27 season is to reach 250 subscription members. As of today, 53 audience members have already renewed or joined for the coming season.

If this series has meant something meaningful to you, one of the most impactful ways to support it at this moment is by becoming a subscription member and encouraging friends, family members, and fellow community supporters to join as well.

We are profoundly thankful to every audience member, volunteer, artist, donor, and community partner who gave this series its identity and heart.

Above all, we would like to express our deepest gratitude to Tsawwassen Collision Ltd and to Peter Sziklai and Sylvia P. Skratek, whose early support helped make this series possible from the very beginning.

For the past seven years, their generosity and commitment to local arts and culture have helped ensure that high-quality live chamber music remains part of this community's cultural life.

If you have reflections, memories, ideas, or thoughts you would like to share with us, we would be delighted to hear from you at [info@vancouverchambermusic.com].

With heartfelt gratitude,

 Vancouver Chamber Music Society
