Join us for a guided experience at the George C. Reifel Migratory Bird Sanctuary. We will begin with a brief orientation in the Lecture Hall, where we can explore museum collections. A guided, biologist-led walk follows highlighting the Sanctuary’s role in supporting migratory birds and wildlife. Located in the Fraser River estuary, the Sanctuary features diverse habitats, including wooded areas, ponds, and tidal mudflats. You will be able to explore trails, observe wildlife from the tower, and learn about the estuary’s ecological importance. Guides discuss bird identification, wildlife needs, and key terminology. Since most of the program is outdoors, participants should dress appropriately for the weather and wear footwear suitable for uneven ground on the walking tour.
