Do you have an iPhone and just use it for making and receiving calls?  Do you want to know how much more it might serve you than just being a phone?  If so, this course might be for you.

You will be shown some of the ways you can set up your iPhone to make it become a more useful and integral part of your daily activities … AND make your life a little easier … well, we hope so anyway!

We’ll show you the basics for sending and receiving text and email messages, taking pictures and organizing the resulting photos, sharing them with others (and saving photos that they in turn share with you), becoming more organized with your contacts, having a useful calendar at your fingertips, checking local and international news, even going to the library on the phone!  If time permits, we can also cover using maps for directions, getting more useful apps, and checking shopping websites for price comparisons.

This is ONLY for iPhones. If you have an Android phone, please don’t register because they are different from iPhones.  Note:  This is a limited-size class which allows for a more personal approach.

If your cellphone is not an iPhone, it is an Android phone, a cellphone made by anyone other than Apple, like a Samsung or a Google Pixel. This course is for Android phone users only.

This 3-session interactive course will help you get the most out of your Android device. You’ll learn how to find and manage your phone settings, how to better use your email app and photo gallery, as well as how to do more effective internet searches. You’ll also learn about evaluating and installing Apps (which is short for Applications, aka Programs).

Your phone is not just for making calls or texting anymore. What is a QR Code? Communicate with family and friends anywhere in the world for free on Wi-Fi. You’re just a few clicks away from a secure portable window to a personal world of knowledge, personal organization, or simply fun and entertainment.

Note: This course is NOT for iPhones.

Did somebody give you a new iPad that is still sitting in the box because you don’t know where to start? iPad’s have the Apple icon on the back of them, Android tablets do not. This course is for Apple iPads.  If that’s what you’ve got, then this course is for you.  It’s for absolute beginners only – those just beginning to become acquainted with their iPad.

You will learn about Settings, Email, Contacts and Safari (Safari is Apple’s internet browser).  And get to know its Camera and about iPhoto as-well-as downloading and using Applications (aka ‘Apps’) from the Apple store.

Please bring your own FULLY CHARGED iPad to class, and if you already have an Apple ID, remember your Apple ID password as well.

To qualify for this Grade 2 iPad course, you must have already mastered these basic iPad skills:  know how to access your iPad’s Settings, be familiar with how to access your Apple ID and iCloud, be using the Apple Mail app (not the Gmail app) and have pictures saved on your iPad. If you have these basic skills in hand, you’re ready for more!

This course will teach you how get more out of your iPad. Skills include learning what to do with all those pictures you’ve been taking; editing, organizing, sharing, storing, as well as working with attachments. Expanding on basic email skills, you’ll learn how to stay organized using Apple Contacts, Calendar, Reminders and Notes. We’ll also go beyond basic internet searches and learn how to use your iPad as a source for News, learn how to create your own personal library and if time permits how to use Maps for directions and even how to do some online comparison pricing and shopping. Be ready to learn strategies to find answers for yourself as you go beyond the basics. Note:  This is a limited-size class which allows for a more personal approach.

Artificial intelligence has gone from science fiction to everyday reality in just a few years, and you're not alone if you feel like you missed how it happened. This session answers three key questions: Why did AI develop so quickly? Who were the important people behind it? And when did all this happen? Instructor Charlie MacKinnon presents a recollection and analysis of modern history (2020-2025) using clear explanations instead of technical jargon. No computer experience required—just bring your questions.
