  Did somebody give you a new iPad that is still sitting in the box because you don’t know where to start? iPad’s have the Apple icon on the back of them, Android tablets do not. This course is for Apple iPads.  If that’s what you’ve got, then this course is for you.  It’s for absolute beginners only – those just beginning to become acquainted with their iPad.  You will learn about Settings, Email, Contacts and Safari (Safari is Apple’s internet browser).  And get to know its Camera and about iPhoto as-well-as downloading and using Applications (aka ‘Apps’) from the Apple store.   Please bring your own FULLY CHARGED iPad to class, and if you already have an Apple ID, remember your Apple ID password as well.

  This 2 hour hands‑on course is a beginners introduction to AI. We will demonstrate a variety of different AIs and encourage attendees to download, install and interact with AIs on their personal phones, tablets or laptops.  Participants should be able to use search engines (Google or Safari) and be able to download apps from the Apple or Android app stores. 

  The instructor will use OpenAI’s ChatGPT/GPT‑PLUS AI to introduce the capabilities and pitfalls of AIs and review popular AIs like Microsoft’s Copilot, Google DeepMind’s Gemini, and Anthropic’s Claude.  By the end of the presentation, participants will be comfortable interacting with AIs.

  Artificial Intelligence is rapidly becoming part of our daily lives, influencing how we work, communicate, learn, shop, and receive services. But what exactly is AI, how did it develop, and what does it mean for society?

  In this interactive two-hour seminar, participants will explore the history and evolution of AI, from its early beginnings to today's powerful systems such as ChatGPT and other generative AI tools. We will discuss how AI is transforming workplaces and examine its impact on younger workers entering the job market, mid-career professionals adapting to change, and seniors navigating retirement in a digital age.

  The seminar is designed for seniors with no technical background. Questions, discussion, and participant experiences are encouraged throughout.
