Strong Towns: Growing our Communities for the Future.

In response to the high cost and continuing demand for housing, which is harming an ever-growing number of people, our provincial government is pushing local municipalities for an increase in housing builds. As we see this push for more housing taking shape, many in the community are concerned about the form that new housing will take. This two-part series will examine the current housing crisis and will present a strategy for gradual neighbourhood change, that will retain neighbourhood values while building a pathway out of this crisis.

 Strong Towns is a nonprofit North America wide organization that promotes the development of cities and neighborhoods of all sizes to be safe, livable, inviting and resilient. They analyze the failures of the post-war North American development pattern while giving citizens the knowledge and tools to start making communities better. 

Join us for an interesting take on not only how we got to the current crisis but how it is possible to build communities that are financially stable, vibrant and enduring.
