Family Day in British Columbia is observed on the third Monday of February. In [2025], BC Family Day will fall on Monday, February 17. It's a great day for families to spend quality time together.

Family Day in British Columbia was officially established in 2013. The holiday is observed on the third Monday of February each year, providing residents a chance to focus on family time and participate in community events.

The concept of Family Day originated in Alberta in 1990 by Premier Don Getty. He introduced the holiday to emphasize the importance of family values and counter what he saw as a decline in family cohesion in society.

Other provinces, including Saskatchewan, Ontario, New Brunswick, and BC, followed suit and established their versions of Family Day over the following decades. The date was chosen to match the U.S. Presidents' Day so as to avoid disrupting trade relations.
