How did Vancouver receive its name?   John Horton, Marine Artist, has captured the stories behind the naming and exploration of our coast with beautiful, detailed, meticulously researched, and technically accurate paintings.   For his series of over 50 paintings depicting Captain George Vancouver’s voyages of exploration, Horton sailed Vancouver’s routes from Washington State through British Columbia and up to the top of Alaska, 4 times on his own boat.

The stories he tells about Captain Vancouver (illustrated with his paintings) will have you wanting to explore the coast  - on your own boat, ferry or cruise ship.  You will see the coast with new eyes.

1 Session, $15    Class size: max 35
Tuesday,  October 1,  1:00 – 3:00 pm
Presenter:  Order of BC recipient, Marine Artist John M. Horton
