Submarines in Canada

We’ll start with a brief history of the development of submarines from the first iterations to the present day, and the employment of these vessels, often called “U-boats”, as tactical and strategic weapons of war in the 19^th, 20^th and 21^st centuries.  Then we’ll move into  Canada’s need for submarines to protect our sovereignty and defend the shores of our three oceans, the sad state of our current submarine fleet and the choices we face.  Can we upgrade our undersea capabilities satisfactorily without going nuclear?
