Eric Jamieson, winner of the Lieutenant Governor’s Medal for his book Arctic Patrol, uncovers the fascinating history of Canada’s fight to secure its Arctic territories.  Come hear the story of how in the 1920’s, Canada’s claim to the Arctic’s archipelago was touch and go and how it was secured by a 1,800-mile dogsled patrol by two RCMP officers and an Inuit guide. As Canada today fends off threats to Arctic sovereignty, we should know the political history of the region and how important it is.
